School Related Programs: Student Support Services

Student Support Services is a team that includes Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Speech Language Pathologists who provide services to Bloorview clients in their community schools within the City of Toronto.

The focus is on integrating the student into their school and promoting maximum independence during their elementary, middle and high school years. Preparation and planning for post-secondary education is provided by the Post Secondary Transition Team, in partnership with the Bloorview School Authority. This team is comprised of an Occupational Therapist and a Teacher.

Any child who is a registered client of Bloorview Kids Rehab and is attending school in Toronto can access Student Support Services.

A referral is required to access this service.  Referrals are accepted from health-care professionals, parents, school principals, or educational consultants. Parental consent is required for acceptance of a referral.
