Kids and families are at the heart of Bloorview Kids Rehab. As Ontario’s largest facility for young people with disabilities and special needs, we specialize in family-centred rehabilitation and habilitation, education and research.

We serve children from birth to age 18 in three separate units, with a total of approximately 80 beds. We provide Complex Continuing Care, Rehabilitation, Respiratory and Sub-acute Care to young people with acquired brain injuries, arthritis, amputations, cerebral palsy, complex epilepsy, muscular dystrophy, orthopedic conditions, spina bifida or spinal cord injuries just to name a few. We have ongoing needs for full-time, part-time and casual nurses in both our pediatric rehabilitation and complex continuing care programs.

Qualifications for Registered Nurses include:

Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario;

Current BCLS;

For RN’s, preference is given to candidates who have graduated from a degree program, OR who are enrolled/willing to enroll in a nursing-degree program

As a nurse in our in-patient setting, you will provide care to infants and children who are receiving rehab, sub-acute or complex continuing care. This includes young people from birth to age 18, who have acquired brain injuries, arthritis, cerebral palsy, complex epilepsy, respiratory conditions, and spinal cord injuries.

Our philosophy supports a family-centred approach and our nurse-to-client ratios are generally 3 to 1. We offer on-site educational opportunities and have clinical educators associated with each of our units to support your ongoing learning. We demonstrate commitment to nursing research and are developing a clinical practice model based on family systems nursing.
