Bloorview Kids Foundation
Our Donors : A Volunteer’s Ongoing Impact
For over 30 years, Margie Thomson volunteered at Bloorview. She was dedicated and committed to helping children with disabilities live life to the fullest.
Once a week, Margie would volunteer in the swim program at Bloorview. She would assist children through their rehabilitation therapies, which can be grueling at times, but she always made time to splash around with the kids after the serious work had finished.
Margie was always thinking of creative ways to make the rehabilitation session fun for the kids. In the old Bloorview facility, she was the mastermind behind the idea of placing colourful kites on the ceiling to help kids takes their minds off their therapy.
“My mother was a very active volunteer in her community, but Bloorview was the one closest to her heart. Not only did she dedicate her time and energy to helping kids at Bloorview, it was her last wish to have all donations directed in her memory to Bloorview,” stated David Thomson, Margie’s son.
Tribute and memorial gifts are a meaningful way to honour the memory of a loved one. If you are interested in learning more about tribute, memorial gifts or legacy gifts, please visit www.bloorviewkidsfoundation.ca.
