Position: Intermediate Network Administrator

Salary: Min: $34.64/hr - Target: $38.10/ hr
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide overall network administration support
- Liaise with vendor field engineers as required for server hardware and software
- Install, implement and support servers, software and Cisco switches in a Microsoft Windows based network environment
- Provide primary support to users with network access problems
- Set up and maintain user IDs and passwords in accordance with departmental protocol
- Liaise with client server application vendor to solve network problems relating to access and day to day operations
- Primary support for the set up and maintenance of all network users’ accounts
- Responsible for the maintenance of anti virus updates to exchange server and desktops
- Responsible for operating system updates and planned regular maintenance of all network servers
- Provide documentation for I.S. staff for network and server maintenance
- Participates in the on-call rotation as scheduled, ensuring that users pages are responded to in a timely fashion
- Proactively identifies potential systems problems through the monitoring of network servers
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum six years network administration and technical support in a Windows environment
- Working experience with Cisco switches (3750, 4506 etc.) and the Cisco IOS. Ability to add a switch to an existing closet stack, configure VLANS and other general administrative tasks
- Knowledge of Cisco’s IP Telephony environment would be an asset
- Experience working with Microsoft Windows Server operating systems (2000\2003)
- Experience working with Windows Administration Tools (Active Directory, DHCP, DNS etc.)
- Experience working with Microsoft client operating systems (2000/XP)
- Experience with Exchange 2000/2003 and SQL 2000/2005
- Exposure to Symantec\Veritas backup software or equivalent enterprise class backup software
- MCSE\MCSA or equivalent work experience
- Strong planning and project implementation skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Motivated to continue self education on new innovative technologies
- Ability to work unsupervised within team framework
- Well organized and self-motivated
- Ability to work under pressure and be able to prioritize concurrent issues
- Customer service techniques, training skills, project planning skills required
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle required
